FAQs for Newton Village
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
We can. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
Do I need to be based in Newton Village to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Newton Village orders go out by tracked courier to EH22.
Is there a minimum order?
There’s no fixed minimum. Short runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can mix several designs in one order.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Newton Village, so you can feel the materials and finishes before you order.

Rules in Scotland
Supplement labelling rules for Newton Village
Supplements sold from Newton Village must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, overseen by Food Standards Scotland. In Midlothian, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Midlothian.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
