Rules in Scotland
Labelling law for supplements from Woodlands
Any food supplement sold from Woodlands must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of Food Standards Scotland. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Aberdeenshire.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Woodlands brands
Do I need to be based in Woodlands to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Woodlands deliveries go out by tracked courier to AB31.
Do you send samples?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Woodlands address, showing our materials and finishes.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
What label suits a powder tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
